Anxiety is a roommate you never invited!

You know, the one that whispers what-if at 3 a.m. turning your heart into a drum and your breath into a sprint saying: “There’s no tomorrow,” just for fun.

But here’s the twist: it’s not a monster, it’s just a projection.

A future scenario you keep replaying, louder than the present.

What will you find here? Twenty-five chapters that show you how to mute and eliminate it.

What you’ll learn

Start by realizing peace isn’t out there — it’s under the static in your head.

  • Stop dreadful thoughts in the dead of night.
  • Learn to let the feelings pass instead of wrestling them.
  • Use your body like a reset button.
  • Quiet your inner chatter on command while in traffic.
  • Cut the negative self-talk that’s been your narrator since the third grade.

Slip back a little? Cut yourself slack; kindness isn’t nice, it’s fast forward.

What you won’t find

What you won’t find

  • No fluff
  • No guru breath-counting
  • No “just meditate harder”

Simple plain English, quick tools, and the quiet fact that you get to choose: stay anxious, or flip the script.

Based on real life experiences.

Free tip from the book

Woken up by a panic attack? Here’s what to do.

Two tiny parts of your brain, the amygdala and the insula (I call them the little hellraisers), grab the wheel. They pull energy away from your logical brain and tell your body to dump adrenaline. Your heart races, you think you’re dying, and that thought tells them to dump even more. Round and round it goes.

The way out: hand the wheel back to your logical brain.

  • Count slowly. Not “1-2-3-4-5”, more like “one… two…” Stretch it out. Slow counting slows your brain, and your body follows.
  • Do simple math in your head.
  • Plan your tomorrow, step by step.

Once logic takes over, the hellraisers go back to sleep, the adrenaline stops, and your body calms down.

Read the introduction

Your hands fidget. Your leg taps uncontrollably. You shift nervously in your chair, get up, and pace the floor. Your mind races with worrying thoughts of what might be. Maybe this is new, or something you’ve been struggling with for a long time. Even worse, it’s 3:00 a.m. and you wake up with alarms screaming in your head, a dry mouth, a pounding heart, and a quick, shallow breath. “Am I sick? What if I lose my job and go broke? What if my partner is upset and we break up? Am I losing my mind?” One word describes what you are feeling….anxiety. It has the power to make you scared, retreat, run away, stop you in your tracks so that you freeze with constant what-if thinking and nerves on edge, not letting you sleep.

Anxiety has a mask fooling you into believing it’s your protection, but wait…look closer. Listen carefully as you remove its mask, and this is what you’ll hear:

“You’ve been anxious a long time. Do you really think that’s going to change? Sometimes you feel better, sure, but those feelings don’t stay. You come back to me…fear. It’s what you learned, what you know, and who you are. I’ll never let you go. Your “empowered self” stays buried in you. I’ll make sure of that. I’m good at what I do. I’ve won before, and I’ll win again. I own you.”

The manipulator has spoken, but do you have to get lost in its maze of lies? Anxiety isn’t your friend, it doesn’t side with you, and doesn’t care how much you hurt. Despite what you feel and as strong as anxiety can seem, does it really have the power to control you or are you giving it that power?

· · ·

…my 20s and 30s, my decisions to do or not do something were based on how anxious or safe I felt. This was exhausting and no way to live. I was tired of having to run my decisions through a fear meter. Still at such a young age, I longed to live a more normal life where I could give myself the freedom to explore new avenues, travel, talk to others freely without the constant “what if something goes wrong” narrative.

I sought out help and feverishly began to learn what anxiety was, why I had it, how it acted, what it did, and how I could shed it with research, therapies, and techniques. I learned it’s an illusion, a ghost, a phantasm just like the smoke you grab with your hand. When you check, there’s nothing there. It hides, strikes, and disappears into the shadows from which it came. That’s anxiety.

Its main objective is to cause fear, to hold you back, and rule your life. The most important thing I learned though was how to let it go and take back my control. I learned how to stop panic attacks dead in their tracks and live a normal life where anxiety doesn’t manipulate my thoughts to make me believe in things that will never happen. I discovered that anxiety didn’t own me, and I know it doesn’t own you. Keep reading and in the pages that follow, you’ll find out what I learned and how you can apply it to your life. I will teach you one step at a time, and we will tackle this together because when anxiety comes to play, you’re not alone. This…is how we win!

A taste from inside

Live your life, don’t die it.

We are all going to leave this Earth one day; it’s inevitable. Hopefully, we all live a long and healthy life. The question is how do you want to live the life that you’ve been given? Do you want to live your life, or do you want to die your life? Living your life means enjoying it, learning, laughing, having fun, and being productive. Dying your life means worrying about the future, being miserable, and wasting time constantly believing something bad is going to happen. This is anxiety. It steals your thoughts, time, happiness, and doesn’t allow you to live your life; you die it slowly. It’s a slow self-torture.

· · ·

I had an honest conversation with myself and asked, “Do you want to live your life or die it?” I chose to live it and have no regrets. You won’t either.

★★★★★Very helpful.

What I like most about this book is that the author is someone who has experienced first hand what it’s like to have anxiety and shares what he’s learned along the way in a manner that is easy to understand and implement. I am glad I read it and use much of the information daily to help with my own anxiety.

★★★★★Easy to digest, with good re-read value.

The book is written in a very intentional way that invites the reader to re-read it, and pause in between sections, which allowed me to really reflect and understand what I was reading. The beginning seemed a bit redundant, but as you continue you see it builds on in a way that’s helpful and applicable. The way the writer describes inner peace always being within you, and how to access it is just pure genius; it definitely helped me with some deep rooted issues.

Highly recommend.

Israel Maya, author, smiling on a Miami boardwalk at sunset

About Israel

Israel grew up surrounded by anxiety. He picked it up from those who surrounded him as a child, and for years thought that was just who he was. It came back full force after marriage and kids. Then, before losing his mother, the panic attacks started.

He learned how to take back control. If one were to show up, he can say “oh, there it is,” and go back to sleep. This book is every tool that got him there, in plain English, so you can do it too.
